Prepare Soil Prior to Pre-application Testing

Ensure that the following are removed from the top 8-10 inches of soil, prior to soil testing:

  • All organic matter (grass, weeds, leaves, wood, etc.)
  • Metal, plastic detritus, most work road materials
  • All stones / rocks greater than 3” length or diameter
  
     
 

 

Test each soil geology before application

Prior to approving a candidate roadbed for treatment with Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregators, the owner / developer must have two tests performed by a licensed soil engineering laboratory: a soil composition (sieves) test, and an optimal humidity test. The first can be completed in a few minutes—the second typically takes five days. If the geology of the soil changes markedly over the length or breadth of the project, separate tests must be performed for each geology present. The soil composition (sieves) test must meet these requirements:

Is Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator environmentally safe?

  • Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator enzymes are naturally derived, and are nonhazardous, non-toxic to humans, animals and vegetation. The product is non-flammable, and there are no shipping restrictions.


  • Due to its inherent health and environmental safety, Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator is exempted from registration with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) via letters issued May 2001 and July 2002 stating: “… there is no EPA impedance to the production and distribution of the product Green Stone 1000.”

 

  
 

 

Do Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator structures perform over time ?

Green Stone 1000 Organic Roads have been in continuous use for over ten years.

Approximately 550 km of private industrial roads (logging, sugar cane, and other heavy-duty transport) are now in service in Brazil, Ecuador and Columbia. These roads handle over 2000 trucks per day with loads of up to 70 metric tons. A major deployment for public roads is underway. No road failures of any kind have ever occurred.

Green Stone 1000 Organic Roads are used year-round due to their resilience and moisture resistance. They show superior resistance to wind and water erosion, and produce minimal dust. They require minimal maintenance.

 
 

Additional Application Requirements

  • Soil Temperature: 47F and rising.
  • Weather: not raining, and no rain predicted for application day.
  • Depth of soil to be treated : determined on-site by factory- trained application specialist.
  • Coverage rate: Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator is applied at the rate of 0.03 oz per cubic ft of treated soil.

Water Dilution: Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator is always diluted by adding it to un-disinfected water in a water truck with internal mixing or re-circulating apparatus. The volume of water is determined by measuring the actual soil humidity on the day of application (determined by a Troxler Nuclear Gauge operated by a certified technician), and calculating the amount of water required to achieve the Optimal Humidity determined above.

  
 

Follow This Procedure with Approved Equipment

  • Use a road grader with blade(s) / rippers to penetrate and break up the soil to be treated.
  • Remove any newly exposed foreign matter listed above, fill large voids and grade to geometry.
  • Use the Troxler Nuclear Gauge to determine actual humidity 2-3 places along a 300 lineal ft road section.
  • Fill the required water truck with the proper volume of water, add Green Stone 1000, and apply the entire quantity evenly to the 300 ft road section.
  • Use a road grader to thoroughly mix the soil with the Green Stone 1000/ water.
  • Use a sheepsfoot compactor (vibrator-type, 15 ton minimum, 25 tons preferred) to work the road section in eight overlapping end to end passes.
  • Use a smooth roller (15-25 tons) and work the road section in eight overlapping end to end passes until smooth.
  • If unexpected rain should force a work stoppage, seal the road with the smooth roller until work can resume.
  • Repeat this process for each subsequent road section at a daily application pace consistent with safety, daylight, weather, and local work practices.

Green Stone 1000 Soil Aggregator is ONLY sold to application technicians who have been trained by our factory in approved projects. The product is shipped in 55 gallon drums and 5 gallon pails.
